High field hybrid photoinjector electron source for advanced light source applications

The production of high spectral brilliance radiation from electron beam sources depends critically on the qualities. One must obtain very brightness, implying simultaneous peak current and low emittance. These attributes are enabled through use field acceleration in a radio-frequency (rf) photoinjector source. Despite fields currently utilized, there is limit achievable brightness operation, range tens Ampere. This limitation can be overcome by hybrid standing wave/traveling wave structure; portion provides at photocathode, while traveling part yields strong velocity bunching. approach explored here C-band scenario, strengths ($>100\text{ }\text{ }\mathrm{MV}/\mathrm{m}$) state-of-the-art.
